Can I create content in a different language without the Translations tool?

Yes, this is possible, but it requires a more manual process. Where possible, we recommend using the Translations tool.

If you create a document in another language, make sure the selected font supports that language. Otherwise, the document may not display as expected. For example, Lato does not support Chinese characters, so it cannot be used to create a document in Chinese. Noto Sans Simplified Chinese is suitable because it was designed to support Chinese characters.

  • Visit https://fonts.google.com/.

  • Select the 'Filter' option.

  • Choose the language option you are looking for from the Language drop-down list.

  • A list of fonts that support the language will then be returned.

  • Click on the font that you wish to download.

  • Select 'Get Font'.

  • Select 'Download All' to download the font files.

  • The font files will be downloaded to a folder on your machine.

Branding

Fully Editable

If you wish to use a different language in a Fully Editable document, upload the font within TigerDesigner.

  • Open the document in 'Design' mode.

  • Select the third icon from the left-hand menu.

  • Select 'Upload Fonts'.

  • Select the 'Add Files' button and select the font file(s) you wish to upload.

  • Select the 'Start Upload' button.

Layout Library

Please contact our Support team if you wish to use a different language in a Layout Library. They will ensure a new branding is created for you using the font file that supports the language. The branding can then be selected and used in the Layout Library document.

Before uploading or distributing a font, make sure you have the necessary rights and licences. PageTiger cannot accept responsibility for any copyright infringement resulting from your use of the font.
