INSIGHTS

Turning Your Content Into Knowledge Checks

Creating assessments can often be one of the most time-consuming parts of building learning content. Whilst subject matter experts know their content well, writing effective assessment questions requires additional time and expertise. AI Assessments helps by generating draft multiple-choice questions based on your document content, allowing you to create knowledge checks quickly and efficiently.

Adding an Assessment

AI Assessments is available for Fully Editable and Layout Library documents. Before generating questions, make sure your document content is complete and ready for learners.

To get started:

  1. Open your document and navigate to the page where you'd like to add an assessment.

  2. Switch to Interactivity mode and click Assessments.

  3. Select Assessment/Survey and draw the interactive panel over the relevant content.

Generating Questions with AI

Click Add, then select the AI option to begin generating questions. AI-generated questions are created from content already within your document, so the quality of the output depends on the quality of the information available. The clearer and more comprehensive your content, the more relevant the generated questions are likely to be.

Configuring Question Settings

Before generating, you can customise several settings:

  • Number of Questions: Create up to ten questions in a single generation.

  • Number of Answers per Question: Choose how many answer options to generate for each question.

  • Content Selection: Generate questions from a single page, a page range, or your entire document, depending on your learning objectives.

  • Extra Context: Use this field to guide the AI toward a particular objective you'd like your questions to achieve. For example, focusing on safety procedures, customer service standards, or leadership responsibilities.

  • Tone: Choose a tone that aligns with the style and purpose of your content.

  • Difficulty: Select a difficulty level to tailor the assessment to different audiences and levels of experience.

Once your settings are complete, click Generate. PageTiger will analyse your chosen content and create a draft set of multiple-choice questions and answers within moments. You're not limited to generating questions just once. You can generate additional sets within the same assessment to build more comprehensive knowledge checks.

Reviewing and Refining

Whilst AI Assessments can save significant time, it's important to review every question before publishing. You can:

  • Edit questions, answer choices, and correct responses as required.

  • Remove or replace any question or answer that doesn't align with your intended outcomes.

Previewing and Publishing

Before publishing, switch to Document Viewer mode to preview the assessment from the learner's perspective. Complete the assessment and submit answers to check that questions display correctly, answer options are clear, and the experience works as expected, and to confirm the difficulty level feels appropriate for your intended audience.

Once you're satisfied, return to the Document Dashboard and click Publish. After publishing, learners will be able to complete the assessment as part of their reading experience.

Tracking Performance

Assessment data contributes to your reporting and analytics, helping you understand how learners are engaging with your content. From the Version Dashboard, navigate to Analytics to review completion data and assessment performance, and identify trends, knowledge gaps, and opportunities for further learning.
