Style Settings: Page Turn

Controls the behaviour of page turning in a document

Choose how the page turn looks and behaves for your readers. These settings let you control the sound, animation speed, zoom options and visual effects, so you can create a reading experience that fits the style and purpose of your document.

Sound

Page-turning sounds can add atmosphere, but they may distract some readers or make the content less accessible. Use them thoughtfully, and consider whether sound improves the reading experience.

Choose the page-turning sound your document plays when a page loads. You have the choice of 4 sounds and also an option for no sound.

Speed

Set the speed of your page turn animation. Choose in the drop down between the following:

  • Fast
  • Normal
  • Slow

Desktop Zoom

Choose whether readers can zoom in on desktop. You can set desktop zoom to 'none' or '2.0x' to turn this on.

On smaller devices, such as mobiles and tablets, readers can still pinch to zoom regardless of this setting.

Page Shadows

Choose whether to have page shadows and it's intensity from the following options in the drop down:

  • No Shadow
  • Faint Shadow
  • Dark Shadow
  • Faint Shadows with Highlights
  • Dark Shadow with Highlights

Allow Manual Page Turn

Tick this box to allow readers to turn pages by clicking the page corners.

Be aware that this option is not available in Internet Explorer.

Remember Previous Interactions

Tick this box to remember a reader’s previous interactions when they revisit the document. This can be useful if someone leaves partway through and returns later, as it allows them to pick up where they left off instead of starting again.

For example, if they have already completed an assessment, this completion will be remembered so they do not need to redo the assessment. It can also return them to the same page they were viewing when they last left the document.

This feature is only active when a document is secured by either an Employee Number, Reader Login or Single Sign-On.

Auto Turn

Set the time the front cover of your document is displayed before automatically turning the page.

Choose a time in the drop down to indicate the time of delay before the page turns automatically, or set this option to disabled.
